Job summary

Cognizant Australia seeks a Principal Consultant to bridge business and technical teams for Workday transformations, guiding design sessions and configuration decisions across the project lifecycle.

You will lead client engagements, mentor analysts, and drive data conversions using iLoads, ensuring a smooth move from legacy systems to Workday HCM and delivering excellence for our clients.

Qualifications

• Ideally 3–5 years of consulting experience.
• Workday integrations and certifications preferred.
• Experience on ERP implementations with SOA tools.
• Proficient with web services (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, PGP, SAML).
• Strong communication, detail orientation, and Excel skills.

Job description

The Principal Consultant will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems. They will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces company policies and procedures to others.
• Helps others by driving, organizing and assigning tasks within a project workstream in order to drive efficient completion and achieve project goals.
• Guide the client through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and an understanding of the client’s unique business requirements at all stages of the project.
• Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to the Workday HCM solution.
• Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the client, the project team and the Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project.
• Willingness to take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
• Display your hands-on expertise of the software, including iLoading client data, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security.
• Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates via iLoads.
• Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments.
• Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization.

Skills & Requirements

• Ideally 3-5 years of consulting experience
• Workday Integration, Workday StudioTM and Workday CCTPPTM certification preferred
• Project experience in a technical or techno-functional role on one or more ERP implementation projects using SOA tools (SAP NetWeaver, Oracle Fusion, Workday Studio or other middleware platform)
• Demonstrated proficiency with web service technologies (REST, JSON, SOAP, HTTP, SSL, PGP, SAML, etc)
• B.A. / B.S., Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, computer science or other engineering discipline preferred
• Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities; able to communicate effectively with diverse people and individuals at various levels within the organization
• Superior detail orientation, organization, and analytical skills
• Outstanding Excel skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing, ecosystem with minimal supervision
