Job summary

Doncaster Secondary College in Melbourne is seeking an enthusiastic Instrumental Music Teacher, specialising in Clarinet and Bassoon, to deliver individual, group and large ensemble lessons. This 0.2 FTE position requires expertise in woodwind instruction and VCE study design, with opportunities to lead ensembles and contribute to the growth of the Music program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning with data-informed feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.
• Understanding of child safety responsibilities under Ministerial Order 870 and VRQA.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individuals.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation.
• Undertake other duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
