Job summary

G’day Group in Australia is seeking a passionate Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to help ensure parks operate to the highest safety standards nationwide. As a key member of Risk & Compliance, you will lead WHS initiatives, maintain compliance with WHS legislation, and drive continuous safety and wellness improvements across accredited parks.

You will support incident investigations, audits, training, and documentation, and collaborate with park teams and management to embed a proactive safety

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Work Health and Safety role.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First aid qualification required.
  • Cert IV in Work Health & Safety desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Hazard & Incident Management System (HIMS) and follow up with park teams on reports and actions.
  • Support incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.
  • Participate and contribute to improving safe systems of work.
  • Work closely with our operational team in executing our safety standards.
  • Assist staff and management in implementing and complying with WHS and wellness programs.
  • Review and improve WHS documentation—risk registers, policies, procedures, and more.
  • Conduct WHS audits and make data-driven recommendations to enhance safety systems.
  • Assist in workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs when needed.
  • Provide training, advice, and hands-on support across all levels of the business.
  • Maintain up-to-date WHS records, reports, and intranet resources.
  • Stay informed and compliant with WHS legislation and best practices.
