Job summary

The Garbage Company is expanding its Sydney operations and is seeking a Weekend Driver / Waste Collection Operator to join the team. You will drive a light truck (4.5-tonne GVM) with a standard full Australian driver’s licence and collect household waste from customer homes.

Shifts are weekend only, starting around 7:00 AM for 8–9 hours. Company vehicle provided on shift, with fuel paid and full PPE supplied. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Full NSW Driver Licence held for at least 3 years.
• No HR licence required.
• Excellent driving skills with a safe driving history.
• Clean driving record (TfNSW Driving Record will be required).
• Physically fit and able to manoeuvre full 120L–240L wheelie bins throughout the shift.
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Police Check required.
• Available to work weekends.
• Student visa holders and temporary visa holders are welcome to apply.

The Role

As a Weekend Driver / Waste Collection Operator, you'll drive one of our company light trucks (4.5-tonne GVM), which can be operated with a standard full Australian driver's licence.

You'll travel to customer homes throughout Sydney, empty household wheelie bins into our collection bins, then return the waste to our Kingswood depot where it is unloaded using electric tipping equipment.

This is a physically active role that combines driving, customer service and hands-on work.

This position is for weekend shifts only.

Requirements

• Full NSW Driver Licence held for at least 3 years


• No previous licence suspensions


• No HR licence required


• Excellent driving skills with a safe driving history


• Clean driving record (TfNSW Driving Record will be required)


• Physically fit and able to manoeuvre full 120L–240L wheelie bins throughout the shift


• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy


• Strong work ethic and positive attitude


• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Shift Information

• Weekend shifts only


• Early morning starts from 7:00 AM


• Shifts are approximately 8–9 hours, depending on the collection route


• Paid training will be provided prior to working independently


• Start and finish each shift at our Kingswood depot (NSW 2747)


• Random drug and alcohol testing may be conducted while on duty
