Job summary

Downer invites applications to join the permanent workforce at RAAF Richmond as a Water Treatment Operator. You will operate and maintain small water treatment plants on a Defence base and help deliver essential public services in NSW.

The role supports safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within a defence partnership. Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and NSW Water Operator Certification, with relevant plant experience and a current driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in water treatment plant operations or related field.
• Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications and White Card (desirable).
• Current NSW Water Operator Certification and driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of small water treatment plants located within a single Defence base.
• Plant operation, monitoring and reporting of water quality, basic maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections, sampling and testing of water quality.
• Adjust chemical dosing and treatment processes under supervision.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Report equipment faults or failures to the Leading Hand.
