Job summary

Urban Utilities is seeking a Development Services engineer to assess Water Approval applications, provide technical advice, and validate designs for water and wastewater networks across Southeast Queensland.

You will analyse technical information, engage with internal stakeholders and customers, and contribute to safer, more reliable development outcomes while expanding your technical capability in the water industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering and relevant engineering experience, ideally within water, wastewater, development or infrastructure.
• Ability to assess technical information, analyse data and make sound recommendations in line with legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to a range of audiences.
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to investigate issues, resolve problems and deliver positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess Water Approval applications and provide technical advice on development enquiries.
• Validate designs in line with legislation, industry standards and Urban Utilities' requirements.
• Analyse information, identify improvement opportunities and resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support community development.
