Job summary

Hardware & General is seeking a motivated Warehouse Storeperson for Brookvale to blend warehouse operations with in-store customer service. You will safely handle stock, prepare orders for delivery, and support sales across the yard and shop.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle materials: loading, unloading, sorting, counting, and organising stock
• Receive incoming goods and allocate to warehouse or store
• Prepare and load orders for delivery and monitor stock levels
• Report damaged or missing stock and support order fulfilment
• Work across warehouse, store, and yard areas as needed
• Follow WHS policies and procedures
• Engage with customers, identify needs, and recommend products
• Process quotes, sales orders, returns, and scheduling accurately
• Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
• Collaborate with teams to support customer requirements
• Resolve customer issues and escalations as required

Warehouse Storeperson (Roofing - Brookvale)

Hardware & General is a family-owned building and plumbing supplier based in Sydney. Founded in 1960 by Walter MacGregor, we've grown from a single corner store into a network of retail outlets across Sydney, while remaining proudly family-run and now in our third generation.

This role is split between warehouse operations and customer service/sales. You will ensure the smooth running of the warehouse and yard by safely handling stock, managing deliveries, and keeping inventory organised. You will also support customers in-store by providing great service, product advice, and assisting with sales.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Safely handle materials including loading, unloading, sorting, counting, and organising stock
• Receive incoming goods and allocate them correctly to the warehouse or store
• Prepare and load orders for delivery and monitor stock levels
• Report damaged or missing stock and support order fulfilment across departments
• Work across warehouse, store, and yard areas as needed
• Follow all Work Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures
• Customer Service & Sales
• Engage with customers, identify needs, and recommend suitable products
• Process quotes, sales orders, returns, and scheduling accurately
• Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business
• Work with internal and external teams to support customer requirements
• Resolve customer issues and escalation where required

What We're Looking For:

• Applicants must have full Australian working rights and be able to work without restriction
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg when required
• Previous experience with building materials is an advantage (not essential)
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Reliable with a strong commitment to safe work practices
• Ability to understand customer needs and provide suitable solutions
• Confident in recommending additional products to support sales outcomes
• Accurate with transactions, stock handling, and following safety procedures
• Current Forklift Licence (LF) or wiling to obtain
• Previous warehouse or yard experience
