Job summary

Compact Home Lifts is seeking a reliable Workshop and WIP Operator to manage our Matraville workshop and storage area, unload lifts by forklift, check accuracy, and prep components for installation. You will assist with site set‑up and on‑site lifting across NSW, supporting licensed installers as needed.

This hands‑on role requires fitness for heavy lifting, basic computer skills and a solid understanding of WHS/SWMS. Join a safety‑minded team with a practical, on‑the‑job training pathway.

Qualifications

• Current driver's licence, forklift licence and White Card.
• Experience in a workshop, warehouse, construction or similar hands‑on role.
• Experience safely loading, restraining and delivering bulky materials.
• Good fitness for regular heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills.
• A good understanding of WHS, SWMS and site safety.

Responsibilities

• Unloading incoming lifts and materials by forklift, then checking job numbers, quantities and condition
• Recording receipts, storage locations and dispatches in our company system
• Keeping the workshop and storage area organised so every customer job stays clearly labelled and separate
• Preparing job materials and doing basic assembly of lift components and Compact inserts ahead of installation
• Loading, securing and delivering lifts and materials to site
• Supporting installers on site with manual handling, site preparation and fitting components such as guide rails, doors and car frames
• Helping with basic electrical and mechanical tasks under the supervision of a licensed installer
• Keeping the workshop, yard and loading areas clean and safe, and managing skips and recycling

About Compact Home Lifts
Compact Home Lifts supplies and installs home lifts, helping people move around their homes safely and independently. Our NSW team is growing, and we're looking for a reliable, hands‑on Workshop and WIP Operator to keep our projects moving from the warehouse through to site.

About the role

You'll look after the day‑to‑day running of our Matraville workshop and storage area. Each delivery is matched to an upcoming installation, so you'll unload it by forklift, check everything is correct and undamaged, and keep each job clearly labelled and organised until it heads out to site. You'll also help with heavy lifting, site set‑up and fitting lift components across sites in NSW.
