Job summary

VCF Transport Services is seeking a Warehouse Manager for its Wonthaggi operation. The role focuses on daily warehouse leadership, stock control, and coordinating receiving and dispatch while maintaining accurate records.

You will lead the team on floor, ensure safety, and manage on-site activities and customer communications. This hands-on role requires forklift operation and a persistent focus on process improvements at the Gippsland depot.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring accurate stock and inventory.
• Lead and roster the warehouse team, set safety standards and drive continuous improvements.
• Coordinate receiving and dispatch, and maintain storage, picking, packing and loading workflows.
• Keep warehouse documentation and systems in good order; communicate with customers when service is required.
• Regularly visit the Dandenong South depot as part of responsibilities.

Run the floor at a depot that keeps Gippsland moving

VCF Transport Services is a locally owned freight, warehousing and logistics operator working across Melbourne's south east, the Bass Coast, Gippsland and regional Victoria. From our depots in Dandenong South and Wonthaggi, we keep stock moving for manufacturers, building suppliers, retailers and small businesses who need their freight to turn up when we said it would.

We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to take charge of our Wonthaggi operation.

What the job looks like

You will own the day to day running of the warehouse. That means accurate stock and inventory, tight coordination of receiving and dispatch, and a clean handle on storage, picking, packing and loading. You will lead and roster the warehouse team, set the standard on safety, and look for the small workflow fixes that make a big difference over a week.

You will work closely with our transport and logistics crew, keep warehouse documentation and systems in good order, and talk directly with customers when service expectations need to be met. There will be regular visits to our Dandenong South depot as well.

This is a hands on role. You will be on the floor, on the forklift, and part of the team rather than watching from an office.

What you will bring

• Strong stock and inventory control, with a track record of keeping records and stock levels accurate

• Experience with warehouse management systems

• Solid operations management skills across planning, scheduling and coordination

• Competent forklift operation, with a current forklift licence and Medium Rigid licence

• Previous experience in warehousing, logistics or transport, ideally in freight or distribution

• Genuine leadership ability, including coaching, delegation and performance oversight

• Clear communication, sharp problem solving, and a real focus on safety and compliance

• The physical capability for warehouse work and the ability to work on site full time in Wonthaggi

• Vocational training or certification in warehousing, logistics or supply chain is a bonus, not a dealbreaker
