Job summary

Silverback Cargo Care in Sydney’s western region seeks a Full-time Permanent Associate to join our warehouse team. You will work closely with the Branch Coordinator and two storeperson/drivers to ensure safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, picking, dispatch and delivery of goods.

Key duties include forklift operation, loading/unloading, stock counts, and building spill kits; when needed you may deliver orders within Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and forklift licence.
• Supervision experience and ability to work within a high‑performing team.
• Experience in all warehouse operations: pick/pack, stocktake, cycle counts and safety issue resolution.
• High level of physical fitness for manual handling.
• Strong verbal and written communication and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support warehouse activities to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Assist with receiving, storing, picking, dispatching and delivering goods.
• Operate forklift and manage loading/unloading of trucks and shipping containers.
• Assist in building spill kits and fulfill delivery runs as required.
• When drivers are on leave, deliver customer orders within Brisbane.

The Role

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for working closely with the Branch Coordinator and the warehouse team (2 storeperson/drivers) to ensure the warehouse runs safely and efficiently, ensuring that all goods delivered are received, stored, picked, dispatched or delivered safely, accurately and on a timely basis. Most of your time will be spent in the warehouse, liaising with the Branch Coordinator and warehouse staff on the delivery runs, jumping on and off the forklift, manual handling cartons and unloading/loading trucks and shipping containers. You will also be required to build spill kits. When drivers are on leave, you will be required to deliver customer orders within Brisbane.

Key Criteria

• - Possession of a valid driver’s license and Forklift/High Risk Work License
• - Supervision experience required and ability to work as part of a high-performing team
• - Proven experience in all aspects of warehouse operations such as pick/pack, stocktake/cycle counts and resolving safety issues
• - High level of physical fitness to manage the manual handling aspects of the role
• - Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as numerical skills.
• - Capability to work unsupervised and make effective and safe decisions.
• - High level of personal presentation and customer service skills
