Job summary

Queensland Department of Education is seeking an experienced AO4 Vocational Education Coordinator for Centenary State High School in Brisbane. Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the school's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) requirements, ensuring compliance with the Vocational Education and Training Quality Framework (VQF), National VET Regulator (NVR) Standards, departmental policies and audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, policies and procedures to support quality assurance and compliance.
• Prepare compliance documentation, reports and submissions relating to vocational education delivery and student outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with the Data Management and Analysis Officer to maintain high-quality vocational education data and reporting.
• Manage and analyse data from OneSchool, QCAA and departmental systems to monitor student participation, retention, attainment and post-school outcomes.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities, investigate data anomalies, and provide reports and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate vocational education, workplace learning and pathway programs that support successful transitions to further education, training and employment.
• Provide advice and support to students, families and staff regarding vocational education programs, qualifications and career pathways.
• Identify emerging pathway opportunities, industry trends and workforce needs to enhance student outcomes.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with employers, universities, registered training organisations, community agencies and industry partners.
• Coordinate employer engagement activities, promotional events and pathway initiatives that increase student awareness and participation in vocational education opportunities.
• Maintain partnership agreements and arrangements that support high-quality vocational education experiences for students.
• Contribute to the strategic planning, continuous improvement and effective delivery of vocational education and pathway programs.
• Provide guidance and support to staff and exercise initiative, professional judgement and discretion in managing the responsibilities of the role.

Centenary State High School is seeking an experienced and highly capable AO4 Vocational Education Coordinator to coordinate the school's vocational education, career development and post-school pathway programs.

Working across Years 10 to 12, you will support students to access pathways aligned with their strengths, interests and aspirations, including further education, training, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment. A key focus is managing the school's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) obligations, ensuring compliance with legislation, quality standards and reporting requirements.

You will also contribute to data analysis, strategic planning and continuous improvement while building strong partnerships with industry, training providers, employers, community organisations and families to strengthen student outcomes and successful transitions beyond school.

Your opportunity:

As the Vocational Education Coordinator, you will provide specialist expertise in vocational education, career pathways and school-to-work programs, supporting students to transition successfully to further education, training and employment. Working with the HOD of Senior Secondary and Data Management and Analysis Officer, you will contribute to RTO compliance, data analysis, strategic planning and pathway development.

You will build strong partnerships with employers, universities, training providers and community stakeholders to expand opportunities for students, while using advanced Microsoft Excel, data management and reporting systems to support compliance and decision-making. This role suits a highly organised, proactive professional who can work independently, manage competing priorities and build positive relationships to improve student outcomes.

As the Vocational Education Coordinator, responsibilities include but not limited to:
