Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer in Colorectal Surgery at Liverpool Hospital. You will provide specialist clinical management within approved privileges and participate in high-quality, evidence-based care for patients in a major teaching hospital setting.

The role emphasizes teaching, on-call readiness, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ongoing professional development to advance patient outcomes and surgical excellence.

Qualifications

• Current medical practitioner registered in Australia with eligible fellowship.
• Demonstrated high-standard clinical practice and interest in complex pelvic surgery.
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
• Experience teaching at undergraduate/postgraduate levels, supervising junior staff.
• Active engagement in continuing medical education and development.
• Ability to meet public health service objectives and resource use.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rosters.
• Proven ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care.
• Work within clinical privileges granted by the CE, on advice of the selection committee.
• Support safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.
• Engage in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff as required.
