Job summary

Appen is seeking a Data Collection Supervisor for a flexible, casual hourly role close to the city. You will guide participants during video recording tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure smooth project execution across varying lighting conditions.

The position emphasizes communication, organization, and confidentiality in handling participant data. Candidates should have customer-facing experience, a valid 3+ year driver’s license, and comfort with Excel.

Qualifications

• We are seeking candidates with a customer-facing background in retail, hospitality, or corporate settings.
• A valid driver’s license held for at least three years is required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Technological confidence with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and strong organizational abilities.
• Detail-oriented with good time management and reliability.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and work collaboratively in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct participants during recording sessions.
• Use Appen’s tools and equipment to run data collection projects.
• Monitor project trackers and report progress to the Data Collection Lead.
• Communicate with participants in person, by email, or by phone.
• Provide light troubleshooting with software and equipment.
• Set up participant payments and maintain accurate records.
• Handle all participant and project information confidentially.
