Williamstown Football Club in Melbourne seeks a dedicated medical professional to provide medical support for players and help coordinate the department. You will liaise with physiotherapists, treat players, and assist with referrals and insurance claims.

The role requires an accredited medical degree, unrestricted APRHA registration, First Aid/CPR, indemnity insurance, and a Working with Children’s Check. You will collaborate with medical and coaching staff and support injury management across

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery/ Medical Science or equivalent.
• Unrestricted registration with APRHA.
• Basic First Aid / CPR (copy to be held on Club file).
• Own Indemnity Insurance (copy to be held on Club file).
• Working with Children’s Check (copy to be held on Club file).

This role will consist of providing Williamstown Football Club with medical support and assist in the coordination of the overall department.

Key Responsibilities

• liaise with Physio’s regarding the injury status of players throughout the week
• Provide players treatment as required
• Assist with Players requiring referrals to specialists, imaging or collecting scripts and advise
• Maintain database as prescribed by the Club of ALL player treatments
• Work with other Medical Staff and Coaching Staff
• Liaise with GM-Football with any other player issues
• Assist GM-Football for any medical claims under Medicare and / or Marsh Insurance
• Understand, and abide by Sport Integrity Australia’s Code of Conduct and Rules in relation to prohibited substances

Pre-Season:

• Attend at least one training per week to oversee any ongoing issues and “be on call as readily as possible”

In-Season:

• Provide a written medical plan following matches to assist Medical Staff which ensures the efficiency of the medical department and priorities the requirements of players
• Attend one night training per week per program to assess and treat players as required
• Attend the weekly online Medical and High Performance department meeting
• Provide clear and concise feedback when required to the Coaching Staff as to why a particular player has been deemed either eligible or ineligible to play
• In conjunction with the Head Physiotherapist and High Performance Manager collaborate on the weekly injury list and medical update to the General Manager and Head Coach
• Attend Match Day’s as fixtured to assess and treat players as required
• Conduct end of season medical screening on ALL listed players in conjunction with the Head Physio of each program

Accreditation

• Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery/ Medical Science or equivalent (copy to be held on Club file)
• Unrestricted registration with APRHA
