Greencross Vets Mortdale is seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse for a part-time role (25-30 hours per week) in Mortdale, Sydney. You’ll support veterinarians across surgery, hospital care, diagnostics and client education in a busy, team‑driven clinic.

Experience in surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring, plus strong animal handling and communication skills, are essential. RxWorks experience is valued. The clinic offers ongoing learning and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a clinical Veterinary Nurse role.
• Strong nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills.
• Excellent animal handling and client service skills.
• Proactive, organized and detail‑oriented with teamwork mindset.

About the Clinic

Greencross Vets Mortdale is a well-established small animal clinic with a loyal client base and a strong reputation within the local community.

About the Role

As a Veterinary Nurse, you'll be an integral part of our clinical team, supporting our veterinarians while ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
• Pre and post-operative patient care
• Hospital nursing and inpatient management
• Assisting with consultations, diagnostics and treatments
• Dental nursing and dental procedures including radiology
• Laboratory and pathology work
• Monitoring and caring for hospitalised patients
• Client communication and education
• Reception support when required
• Maintaining high clinical, hygiene and infection-control standards
• Contributing to positive workflow and clinic operations

This is a hands-on role suited to a nurse who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about veterinary nursing and enjoys being part of a team that genuinely cares about each other, their patients, and their clients.

You’ll bring:

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working as a Veterinary Nurse in a clinical setting
• Confidence across a broad range of nursing duties
• Strong surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills
• Excellent animal handling abilities
• Outstanding communication and client service skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and positive attitude
• A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a supportive team culture

Experience with RxWorks is highly regarded but not essential.
