Job Description

We are seeking a Certificate IV Nurse to join our practice at Greencross Vets Mortdale and Punchbowl on a Part Time Basis, as one of our wonderful Nurses wants to dip her toes in emergency practice.

Our clinic is 100% small animal. We see predominantly dogs and cats and the occasional pocket pet. We have a great client base with regular and loyal clientele.

Mortdale and Punchbowl are busy practices with exposure to a variety of medical and surgical cases. We have a visiting surgeon for orthopaedics who visits as required. The clinics are well-equipped with digital x-rays, ultrasound, iM3 Elite Dental suite, dental x-rays, laser machine, full internal lab to run CBC, electrolytes and biochemistry, multi-parameter monitoring devices, blood pressure monitoring, separate dog, cat and isolation wards, full surgical suite and more.

We are a friendly bunch who love to have fun while working and we are ready for an enthusiastic experienced Nurse to join our diverse and supportive team!

What attributes are we seeking?
  • A motivated and passionate Nurse
  • Experienced Nurse (2+ years) to help with upskilling junior Nurses, but other applicants of less experience will still be considered.
  • Experience in both surgical and medical Nursing
  • Someone with high attention to detail and can multi-task
  • Ability to deal with a varying workload and be able to prioritise work tasks
  • Accountable and reliable
  • Work well within a Team
  • Great communication skills
  • Great customer service skills and be able to build rapport with our clients
  • Help with driving our clinic initiatives and goals
About the role
  • You will work on a rotating roster and be exposed to a variety of Nursing duties. All our Nurses work on a rotating weekend roster system and the weekend shifts are divided up between the staff.
  • Exposure to a busy practice that will ensure your Nursing skills are not wasted, and you can practice them every day.
  • Help with delivery and ensure patient care is upheld
  • Work with a great team that all get along well
