Job summary

Portland District Health in Portland, Victoria is seeking a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join the Urgent Care team on a part-time basis (64 hours per fortnight). The role focuses on delivering safe and effective personal and clinical care aligned to consumer needs, goals and preferences.

You will support the development of staff clinical skills and contribute to quality, safety and risk management.

Qualifications

• NMBA registration via AHPRA is mandatory.
• Post-graduate qualification in Emergency Nursing and/or Intensive Care is desirable.
• Triage training/competency is mandated.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) is mandated.
• Paediatric ALS is desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care.
• Strong clinical assessment, escalation, prioritisation and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective personal and clinical care aligned to consumer needs.
• Support the development of clinical skills in staff under your responsibility.
• Contribute to quality, safety and risk management programs.
• Foster a person-centred care environment with consumer engagement.
• Roster will include Monday to Friday, night shift, weekends and public holidays.
