Job summary

ForHealth Group is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. You will provide high-quality nursing support, triage patients, and deliver front line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner.

You will be part of a growing network across Australia, with opportunities to perform wound care, plastering, and assist in procedures while enjoying a supportive, patient-centered culture and no overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in one of ED triage or ICU/remote nursing.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care and triage with accuracy and empathy.
• Conduct thorough nursing triage and prioritise care for best outcomes.
• Act decisively in emergencies and elevate deterioration promptly.
• Provide hands-on procedural care such as suturing and plastering.
• Maintain documentation to support continuity of care and safety standards.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care and educate patients.
• Collaborate with families and medical practitioners to achieve health goals.

The Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high-quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as being appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner. Your Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care — take charge of triaging every patient who walks through the door with accuracy, empathy, and confidence.
• Conduct thorough and precise nursing triage — quickly assess patient needs and prioritize care to ensure the best outcomes.
• Act decisively in critical moments — identify and elevate emergencies or patient deterioration without hesitation to safeguard patient health.
• Put your clinical skills to work — perform hands-on procedural care such as suturing and plastering, expanding your expertise in a fast-paced environment.
• Thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing setting — demonstrate flexibility and adaptability as you respond to the unique challenges of urgent care.

About You

• Current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse.
• Must be available evenings and weekends.
• Meet the minimum experience level in any one of the following:
• 3 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting OR
• 3 years of triage experience OR
• 3 years of experience in ICU, CCU, Rural or remote nursing.
• Previous experience in triage with an emergency department, remote nursing is preferred.
• You will be required to provide a Working with Children’s check, National Police check if not already obtained and International police check where relevant.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and elevate appropriately.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
• Can work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
• A passion for patient-centered care and a personable approach.
