Job description

Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.

The Waverley Christian College, Narre Warren South Campus invites expressions of interest from businesses and independent music contractors to conduct small group and private music lessons in the discipline of Brass. Parents pay Tutors directly.

Our Music programs run during term-time only. This role would involve instrumental tutoring for 6 -7 hours per week, including solo, small-group lessons, and possible ensemble directing.

The ideal individual will have:
  • Suitable instrumental qualifications and experience for the role
  • Demonstrated tutoring experience with individuals and small groups
  • Days of work are generally flexible subject to your other business requirements; currently there is availability on Tuesdays and possibly Wednesdays
  • Ability to creatively engage students 8 – 18 years old
  • Capacity to tutor beginners and advanced students
  • Experience in preparing students for music exams and concerts
  • Willingness to work within the school timetable
  • Passion for playing and teaching
  • Ability to work within a team
  • A Working with Children Check Card (mandatory) or VIT (optional)
  • Evidence of a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education

All contractors will be required to comply with the College’s Child Safety Code of Conduct, Child Safety Policy, and Student Wellbeing Policy. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. You will be expected to contribute proactively to a culture of child safety at the College.

A Working with Children’s Check, and a Police Check less than three months old are mandatory prior to being engaged.
