Job summary

Westfill Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our FIFO team from Perth. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults on underground equipment such as Sandvik trucks, drills and loaders. Carry out preventative maintenance and scope jobs with time, materials and resources.

We offer $85+ p/h, plus super on all hours, a 7:7 or 2:2 roster and fortnightly pay. There is a $1,000 employee referral bonus and long-term project security for the right

Qualifications

• Heavy Diesel Mechanic qualification recognised in Australia (essential).
• At least 2 years' post-trade experience in underground mining or related industries (e.g. agriculture, civil, construction).
• Manual driver's licence (essential) and relevant RPLs to operate underground vehicles.
• Solid knowledge of underground mining regulations, procedures and safe handling of explosives.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding conditions.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen.
• National Police Clearance within the last 6 months (required).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Work on underground equipment, including Sandvik trucks, drills and loaders, CAT graders and Volvo integrated tool carriers.
• Scope jobs and estimate time, materials and resources.
• Work closely with shift supervisors, mechanics and other underground personnel.
