Job summary
WorkPac Group is seeking an experienced Development Electrician for an underground coal mining operation in Moranbah, Queensland. You will install, maintain and fault-find on underground mining equipment while supporting development work and infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance.
The role offers a 7/7 roster with rotating day and night shifts, camp accommodation and meals, and a 6-month contract with potential extension.
Qualifications
- Electrical Trade Qualification required.
- Current Electrical Licence required.
- Proven underground coal mining experience is essential.
- Experience as a Development Electrician highly regarded.
- Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical are required.
- Current Driver's Licence and full Australian working rights are required.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out installation, maintenance, and fault-finding on underground mining equipment
- Supporting underground development operations and infrastructure
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on mining equipment and fixed plant
- Completing preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
- Ensuring all work complies with site safety standards and legislation
- Coordinating with production and maintenance crews to minimise downtime
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports

Carrying out installation, maintenance, and fault-finding on underground mining equipment
Supporting underground development operations and infrastructure
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on mining equipment and fixed plant
Completing preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with site safety standards and legislative requirements
Working closely with production and maintenance crews to minimise downtime
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports
Electrical Trade Qualification
Current Electrical Licence
Proven underground coal mining experience (essential)
Previous experience as a Development Electrician highly regarded
Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical
Current Driver's Licence
Full Australian working rights
$114.56 per hour
