Job summary

Redpath Australia is seeking a motivated Drill & Blast Engineer to join our team at Cowal Gold Operations. This hands-on, site-based role requires working underground to plan, design and optimise drilling and blasting activities to achieve safe and cost-effective outcomes.

You will spend time underground building relationships with crews, understanding operational challenges and developing practical solutions that contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering is required.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining environments.
• Exposure to drill and blast, mine planning or mine engineering activities.
• Experience using mine planning and scheduling software.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Hands-on approach with underground operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drilling, blasting and mine plans to support targets.
• Design and optimise drill patterns, charging designs and firing sequences.
• Conduct underground inspections and provide technical support to crews.
• Monitor blast performance and analyse stope performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, dilution control and mining efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production and development data and reporting.
• Collaborate with supervisors, operators and site leadership to meet objectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across underground mining activities.
