Job summary

Mergent Group is seeking two UAV / Assistant Drivers to join a casual project in Launceston/Devonport and Hobart, Australia, from now until the end of September. You will drive the project vehicle and support the UAV pilot during field operations.

Ideal candidates hold a full Australian driver's licence, good navigation and communication skills, and a safety-first approach. You must be comfortable working outdoors and travelling between multiple locations; UAV experience is advantageous but not

• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused.
• Willing to work outdoors and travel between sites.
• Experience with UAV operations is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive the project vehicle between poles and work locations.
• Navigate efficiently between sites using GPS and mapping systems.
• Support the UAV pilot with day-to-day drone operations.
• Act as an additional observer/spotter during UAV operations.
• Assist with equipment handling, setup and pack-down.
• Provide general field support as required.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance while working in the field.

Mergent Group are seeking two UAV / Assistant Drivers to join the team on a casual project basis, from now until the end of September, as required.

We have one position available in Launceston/Devonport and one in Hobart.

We currently have a project underway involving the inspection of a large volume of distribution poles using drones. We are looking for reliable individuals who can drive the project vehicle, navigate between locations and provide general support to the UAV pilot during field operations.

About the Role

• Drive the project vehicle between distribution poles and work locations


• Navigate efficiently between sites using GPS and mapping systems


• Support the UAV pilot with day-to-day drone operations


• Act as an additional observer/spotter during UAV operations


• Assist with equipment handling, setup and pack-down


• Provide general field support as required


• Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance while working in the field

About You

• Good navigation and communication skills

• Able to work independently while also supporting the wider team


• Previous experience with UAV/drone operations is advantageous but not essential
