Job summary

Bayside Group is partnering with an established food manufacturing business in Melbourne's southeast to recruit a Maintenance Manager for its Chelsea Heights and Langwarrin operations. This role requires hands-on leadership across two sites and a focus on equipment reliability and preventative maintenance.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive maintenance practices, manage a small team, and coordinate contractors to support production performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance management within FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical maintenance knowledge and fault-finding.
• Experience with production machinery and plant equipment.
• Proven track record with preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience using CMMS to plan and track activities.
• Experience leading maintenance personnel and coordinating contractors.
• Commitment to safety, isolation, and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving and independent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance across two sites and coordinate activities.
• Manage and improve preventive maintenance programs.
• Provide hands-on technical support and fault diagnosis.
• Investigate recurring faults and implement lasting solutions.
• Coordinate maintenance personnel and external contractors.
• Maintain equipment records and spare parts inventory.
• Collaborate with production for equipment improvements.
• Ensure safety, HACCP, and quality requirements.
• Report maintenance performance to General Manager.
• Provide after-hours on-call maintenance when needed.
