TSPV or TSPA Cleared | Software Engineer – Secure Defence Platforms

Join a high-impact program delivering advanced software capability in a secure Defence environment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Software Engineer who can design, develop, and support scalable, secure, and integrated applications while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable outcomes aligned to business needs and technical standards.

Contract Duration

Initial 12-month contract to 14 September 2027, with 2 x 12-month extension options

Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current TSPV/TSPA clearance. This position is open to Australian citizens with a valid security clearance due to role requirements. Essential Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications, systems, and components using approved tools, frameworks, and programming languages
• Analyse business and technical requirements to deliver effective, secure, and scalable software solutions
• Collaborate with project managers, product owners, business analysts, customers, and engineers to plan, estimate, and deliver software outcomes
• Troubleshoot issues, improve existing solutions, and maintain technical documentation in line with project and security requirements

Key Criteria

• Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex software solutions in secure or highly governed environments
• Strong capability in software design aligned to SWDN Level 5, including design trade-offs, scalability, security, and maintainability
• Experience contributing to code reviews, architecture discussions, and cross-functional technical delivery
• Ability to work effectively in a high-security environment with discretion, sound judgement, and strong stakeholder collaboration skills
