Job summary

PlastaMasta Canberra is seeking an experienced Truck Driver with a HC licence to join our team. You will be responsible for safely transporting plasterboard and building products to commercial and residential sites across designated routes, ensuring compliance with road transport regulations and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities include conducting pre and post-trip inspections, planning efficient routes, loading and securing cargo, and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• Current Heavy Combination (HC) licence is essential.
• White Card holder preferred.
• National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Minimum 2 years of professional truck driving experience in road transport.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
• Strong route planning and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit to lift and secure cargo.

As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting plasterboard and building products to commercial and residential building sites across designated routes, ensuring compliance with all road transport regulations and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Operating HC vehicles safely and in accordance with all traffic laws and regulations
• Conducting pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and road-worthiness
• Planning and managing delivery routes efficiently to meet customer expectations and delivery schedules
• Loading, securing and unloading cargo safely and in compliance with load restraint standards
• Maintaining accurate logbooks and transport documentation, including delivery confirmations and vehicle maintenance records
• Communicating professionally with customers, dispatchers and team members throughout the delivery process
• Adhering to Hours of Service regulations and fatigue management requirements
• Reporting vehicle defects, accidents and safety hazards promptly to management
• Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior

What we're looking for
