Job summary

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a Therapeutic Youth Worker to provide trauma‑informed care to children in residential care, within a multidisciplinary team. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment where young people build resilience and life skills.

Responsibilities include daily care, education and transport support, implementing care and safety plans, and collaborating with families and professionals. A rotating roster, including sleepovers, weekends and public holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Current Blue Card, NDIS clearance or willingness to obtain, Police Check, First Aid & CPR, and a valid Australian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Build safe, therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
• Provide daily care, household support, transport, and routine activities.
• Support education, appointments, employment, and community participation.
• Implement therapeutic care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safety plans.
• Respond to complex behaviours using trauma-informed and de-escalation practices.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with families, Child Safety, schools, and allied professionals.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and cultural identity of every young person.
