Job summary

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is seeking a registered Psychologist to support the Principal Psychologist in delivering psychological services and wellbeing programs for AV employees and their families. The role includes developing and implementing projects, policies and initiatives to improve mental health outcomes, with a hybrid working model and Doncaster presence.

Qualifications

• Registered psychologist with trauma-informed practice and PTSD treatment experience.
• Knowledge of Psychological First Aid and risk assessment.
• Experience supporting emergency service personnel.
• Willingness to travel across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria; available outside ordinary hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on and delivery of psychological services to AV employees and their families.
• Deal with complex psychological cases in line with AV guidelines and legislation.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide consultation and advice to AV managers on staff mental wellbeing issues.
• Assess and deliver crisis intervention strategies and provide critical incident support as required.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines, AV policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory legislation.
