Wandiyali is seeking a Practitioner for the Aboriginal Family Preservation program (Turool Malang) to work with Aboriginal children, young people and families in the Newcastle/Hunter region. This role focuses on trauma-informed, culturally responsive supports grounded in SEWB.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, deliver case management, advocacy and family-led planning, and contribute to quality assurance within a child-safe organisation that prioritises community-led outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, or equivalent demonstrated experience in child protection and family preservation.
• Demonstrated understanding of developmental needs and transgenerational trauma across children, young people and families.
• Demonstrated ability to implement structured, culturally responsive therapeutic interventions and maintain strong interagency relationships.

Responsabilités

• Provides trauma informed, culturally responsive support to families with complex needs promoting self-determination and family-led decision-making, including risk assessment and safety planning.
• Collaborates with the team on development and implementation of evidence-informed therapeutic interventions.
• Contributes to Turool Malang Quality Assurance processes and engages internal and external stakeholders.
