Job summary

AI Talent is seeking a Transport Engineer to join our team and contribute to planning, design and delivery of transport infrastructure across Australia. You will analyse travel demand, model traffic, prepare technical reports and collaborate with planners, engineers and government stakeholders to create safe, efficient corridors for people and freight.

The role requires a Civil/Transport Engineering degree, knowledge of Australian standards, and licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transport Engineering or related field.
• Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership, Chartered status preferred.
• Experience in transport planning/traffic engineering in consultancy, government, or delivery.
• Proficiency in traffic modelling software (SIDRA, VISSIM, AIMSUN, EMME).
• Knowledge of Australian standards including Austroads and state road design manuals.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to report to clients and stakeholders.
• Full Australian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess travel demand patterns for infrastructure planning.
• Design transport system components: highways, transit, rail, freight terminals.
• Conduct traffic modelling and impact assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, and agencies on integrated solutions.
• Analyse traffic data to identify issues and improvements.
• Provide advice on road safety, intersections, and active travel.
• Support transport strategies and network reviews for clients.
• Liaise with regulators and assist with development approvals.
• Monitor progress, budget, and quality against plans.
• Contribute to proposals and client engagement.
