Your role

Corrective Services is seeking a Transitional Centre Worker to work across a rotating roster at the Bolwara Transitional Centre in Emu Plains.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide high‑level support and assistance to female residents, including clear communication, counselling, negotiation and assessment on family, social and legal issues to aid transition from correctional to post‑release living.
  • Escort residents to appointments and job interviews, and help them find employment.
  • Support residents in redeveloping social and housekeeping skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in record‐keeping related to admission and discharge.
  • Develop professional relationships with residents, promoting a mutually trusting and empathetic environment.
  • Assist with the development of case plans and engage with community stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one before employment.
  • Willingness to undertake shift work in a rotating 24‑hour, 7‑day roster.
  • Willingness or current possession of a Working with Children Check.
  • Successful completion of the Security Awareness and Management of Female Offenders training course.
