Job summary

Hancock Iron Ore invites applications for a Training Supervisor to join the People and Culture team at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Training, you will lead delivery of training and assessment, ensuring employees and contractors have the skills and knowledge to perform safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading training and competency functions within mining or a similar operational environment.
• Solid understanding of competency-based training, assessment practices and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience working with operational stakeholders to identify capability needs and deliver practical training solutions.
• Strong capability in Learning Management Systems, training governance and reporting/analytics to drive decision-making.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) and a current manual driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of trainer assessors to deliver safe, effective and high-quality training outcomes across the mining operation.
• Coordinate training and assessment activities to meet operational priorities, workforce capability requirements and business objectives.
• Drive workforce competency by overseeing onboarding, verification of competency, refresher training and role-specific development programs.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify capability needs and develop training solutions that support changing business and operational requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the Training and Competency Management Framework, legislative requirements and internal standards.
• Monitor training performance, compliance and workforce capability data to identify gaps, manage risk and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide governance and quality assurance across training systems, records, processes and assessment practices to maintain a safe, competent and audit-ready workforce.

• Exposure to operational improvement projects and experience across mining disciplines such as mobile equipment, drill and blast, load and haul, processing or autonomous operations will be highly regarded
