Job summary

Icon Water in Canberra is offering Early Careers Traineeships at the Lower Molonglo Wastewater Treatment Plant. This Full-time program provides on-the-job learning while undertaking formal study to gain nationally recognised qualifications.

Join a safety-focused team and develop practical skills through structured mentoring, with broad exposure to plant operation, sampling, analysis and reporting as part of a supportive workforce.

Qualifications

• Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
• Strong communication skills
• Good computer literacy and comfort with common software tools

Responsibilities

• Learning how to operate, monitor and control plant processes at the Lower Molonglo Wastewater Treatment Plant
• Undertake process sampling and laboratory analysis as part of training
• Assist with inspection, analysis and reporting of plant and equipment
• Adhere to workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
• Develop professional and technical skills through structured learning and mentoring

About The Role

Are you ready to learn while you work and build a rewarding career with Canberra's water utility? Icon Water is seeking enthusiastic, proactive, motivated and safety-focused people to join our team through our Early Careers Program. We currently have opportunities available at our Lower Molonglo Wastewater Treatment Plant in Canberra for 2 x Full-time Trainees.

Our traineeships provide an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience while undertaking formal study.

What You'll Do

• Learning how to operate, monitor and control various plant and processes
• Learn how to undertake process sampling and laboratory analysis
• Detailed inspection, analysis and reporting of plant and equipment
• Ensure all workplace, health, safety and environmental procedures are followed
• Developing professional and technical skills through structured learning and mentoring
