Job summary

JK Williams (JKW) is a well-established civil construction business based in Penrith. They are seeking a Trainee Surveyor or Survey Technician to join the Surveying team, ideally with some civil construction experience.

The role reports to the Survey Manager, focusing on surveying and set-out for civil projects on site while adhering to WHS and quality standards. A Cert IV in Surveying underway and a White Card are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards a Cert IV in Surveying.
• WHS Industry Induction Card (White Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing design information (hard copy and digital) to work out each day’s set out.
• Surveying and setting out civil projects on site.
• Working to our Integrated Management System (WHS, Quality and Environment).

We believe in traditional values while embracing modern ways of working – and we’re looking for a Trainee Surveyor or Survey Technician, ideally with some experience in civil construction, to join our Surveying team.

What you’ll be doing

• Surveying and setting out civil projects on site
• Working to our Integrated Management System (WHS, Quality and Environment)

Desired Skills and Experience

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Good planning, organising and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work well in a small team
• The confidence to work on your own without supervision
• Bonus points: experience with surveying software such as Trimble Business Center, Topcon (Magnet), Propeller, 12D, VisionLink or Civil CAD will be highly regarded

The must-haves

• Working towards a Cert IV in Surveying, or willing to start one
• WHS Industry Induction Card (White Card)
