Job summary

Gold Fields is offering a 12-month Trainee Paste Fill Operator program located on site in the Australian mining environment. You’ll shadow experienced professionals, learn paste walls, reticulation systems and related infrastructure while developing practical skills and safety awareness.

The role involves physical activity, outdoor conditions, and a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off with night shifts. A focus on teamwork, safety, and a pathway to a permanent role is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience in mining, construction or labour environments is valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and maintenance of paste walls and paste reticulation systems.
• Support installation and operation of instrumentation, compressed air and ventilation infra.
• Assist with water and dewatering pipe systems and ensure safe, timely installation.
• Safely operate machines and equipment for paste fill tasks.
• Complete pre-starts, inspections and operational documentation accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping across paste plant, cabins, crib rooms, workshops and work areas.
• Communicate with Paste Fill Coordinator and Mine Management about issues affecting production.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety discussions and initiatives.
• Work as part of a team to complete tasks safely and to standard.
• Follow Supervisor instructions and stay organized for tasks.
