Job description

We're looking for a caring, reliable and developing Educator / Trainee to join our team at Only About Children Rhodes.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has begun their early childhood journey and is ready to keep building confidence, capability and accountability in daily practice.

About our Rhodes campus

There's a vibrant, multicultural energy to working at Rhodes. Set within Rhodes Corporate Park, the campus is surrounded by families, local workers and a growing waterfront community. With Rhodes Station, buses, onsite parking and the waterfront walk close by, it feels connected, convenient and full of life.

Inside, Rhodes feels spacious, caring and culturally rich. Children learn across ten indoor spaces and two large outdoor areas with sandpits, garden beds, a gentle hill, cubby house, bike track and growing spaces. Families often describe educators as warm, professional and deeply invested. With multilingual educators and strong community connections, Rhodes is a campus where children feel safe, seen and excited to grow.

You're The Difference at OAC

At Only About Children, everything starts with one simple truth: You're The Difference.

With us, you'll be supported to keep developing your practice while making a visible difference in children's everyday learning and wellbeing.

About the role

As an Educator / Trainee, you'll deliver consistent, high-quality education and care under guidance while continuing to make satisfactory progress towards your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or higher.

  • Support daily routines, including meals, rest, transitions, hygiene and positive behaviour guidance.
  • Observe children's interests, strengths and needs to contribute to planning and documentation.
  • Build respectful relationships with children and families through warm, professional communication.
  • Work with Room Leaders, educators and campus leadership to support smooth room operations.
  • Actively participate in training, study, feedback and reflection to build your professional capability.
What you'll bring
  • At least 12 months' experience as a CSE.
  • Working towards or enrolled in an approved Early Childhood Education and Care qualification, minimum Certificate III pathway.
  • Foundational understanding of child development and early learning frameworks.
  • Current or willingness to obtain First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
  • Strong commitment to child safety, wellbeing and children's rights.
  • Willingness to learn, reflect and grow professionally.
  • Current Working with Children Check and relevant state-based child protection clearance.
What we offer
  • Support to continue building your qualification and confidence, with guidance from experienced educators and campus leaders.
  • Professional development from day one, including access to OAC learning programs, Grow Curriculum training and compliance learning.
  • Career growth and qualification support, including education assistance, financial contributions and paid study leave where eligible.
  • A clear pathway towards Qualified Educator progression, helping you take your next step with confidence.
  • Up to 50% childcare discount for eligible team members.
  • Everyday savings through OAC Rewards, with discounts across groceries, retail and more.
  • Wellbeing support, including two Wellbeing Days each year, additional annual leave purchase options and 24/7 TELUS Health EAP access.
