Job summary

Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our Finance Directorate and build professional accounting skills across management and financial accounting, reporting, and operations.

You will gain exposure to diverse finance projects, support high-quality financial services, and contribute to monthly/annual reporting while developing best practices and systems improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or currently undertaking relevant tertiary studies.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• A commitment to continuous learning and delivering high-quality financial services.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, budgets and performance monitoring activities.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Contribute to the review and improvement of financial systems, processes and reporting practices.
• Provide support to management and financial accounting teams in resolving issues and implementing agreed actions.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist with audit and compliance requirements.
