Job summary

The Spark Consortium is delivering Central Package traffic management for Victoria’s North East Link project in Melbourne. You will assist the traffic team with temporary traffic management, document preparation and permit approvals, under senior engineering guidance.

Key duties include updating Worksite Traffic Management Plans, implementing traffic guidance schemes, and supporting construction with traffic switches and disruption coordination.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering.
• Exposure to traffic or transport engineering.
• Working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Previous experience within the construction industry will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, prepare and update Worksite Traffic Management Plans (WTMPs).
• Manage the implementation of traffic guidance schemes, including preparation of drawings, risk assessments and relevant permit approvals.
• Complete traffic modelling to assist construction activities on the project
• Support the team in implementation of traffic switches to assist with construction
• Prepare weekly co-ordination notes to support management of disruptions for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage traffic control bookings to assist with construction activities

Job description

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads.Up to 135,000vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

About the Opportunity:
