Job summary

Komatsu Australia is hiring a Trades Assistant at Komatsu Welshpool to support the Service and Parts teams. You will help Technicians, prep equipment, and maintain a clean, safe yard. This role offers a 38-hour week with a 5-on/2-off schedule.

Ideal candidates have trades assistance experience with heavy equipment, a C class licence, and willingness to obtain High Risk Licences such as Forklift, Rigging and EWP. Salary is commensurate with role and overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Previous Trades Assistant experience working on heavy equipment, mining or industrial machinery.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Hold or be willing to obtain High Risk Work Licences including Forklift, Rigging and EWP.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operation of the Service and Parts yard and storage areas.
• Assist Technicians and Parts personnel with workshop and yard duties.
• Complete pre-start checks on used equipment, forklifts, cranes and trailers.
• Pressure wash, clean and detail machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Complete required documentation and follow company procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the team and identify opportunities for improvement.

Role Located:

Komatsu Welshpool

Working Hours:

5 days on 2 days off, 38 hours per week

Potential Annual Earnings:

$116,000 (weekly pay + potential overtime)

What we are looking for:

• Previous Trades Assistant experience working on heavy equipment, mining, or industrial machinery.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Hold, or be willing and able to obtain, relevant High Risk Work Licences, including Forklift, Rigging and EWP.
• Commitment to safety, hazard identification and risk management.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Knowledge of basic machining processes will be highly regarded.
