Job summary

Fuse Recruitment in Brisbane is seeking a hands-on Trades Assistant to support an infrastructure team on pipeline rehabilitation projects.

You will assist with confined space tasks, operate and maintain robotic tools, and help with high-pressure cleaning activities, while following safety permits and WHS protocols.

This role suits physically capable candidates willing to travel to regional sites, with strong teamwork and a proactive approach to on-site safety and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a trade assistant or infrastructure role, ideally with confined space exposure.
• Able to work away from home with flexible start/finish times.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks in outdoor site environments.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, permits, and WHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pipeline relining, reinstatement, and rehabilitation works including CIPP relining.
• Support operation of robotic cutting tools and high-pressure cleaning equipment.
• Prepare, operate, and pack down pipes, tanks, and related equipment per safety procedures.
• Work in confined spaces with permits, gas testing, and ventilation compliance.
• Act as confined space standby/spotter and assist with gas testing and site safety checks.
• Perform manual labour, site housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
• Support tradespeople and operators with infrastructure tasks and routine maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in similar trade assistant or infrastructure roles, ideally with confined space exposure
• Ability to work away from home, with flexible start and finish times
• Physically fit, able to work in confined spaces and handle manual tasks
• Comfortable working in outdoor, site-based environments with adherence to safety protocols
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and permit systems
• Reliable, proactive, and keen to develop practical skills in infrastructure projects
