Job summary

Triple Eight Race Engineering in Queensland is seeking an experienced Race Engineer to join the Supercars engineering team. You will be responsible for a specific race car, translating data, simulations and driver feedback into measurable lap-time improvements.

The role is full-time and trackside, with attendance at all events and testing. You will also engage in workshop-based engineering, data analysis and vehicle development between events.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronic or related engineering field.
• Proven motorsport engineering experience at a high level.
• Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics, tyres, aero, powertrain and setup.
• Strong data interpretation, analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make sound engineering decisions under pressure.
• Strong organisational skills to manage race/testing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Engineer the race car at events and testing; develop run plans and setup decisions.
• Lead technical debriefs and ensure legal compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with driver, data engineers, and wider team for performance gains.
• Analyse data from testing/racing to identify trends and improvements.
• Plan track testing and experiments with clear objectives and instrumentation.
• Maintain records and communicate findings across the engineering group.
