Job summary

Children's Ground in Darwin is seeking a Head of Learning and Wellbeing - Top End to lead the Learning and Wellbeing Team and deliver culturally enriched early learning opportunities.

You will oversee the extended hours program for 10–25-year-olds, work with First Nations communities, and ensure high standards of safety, evaluation, and governance across Top End sites.

This senior role requires tertiary qualification, 5+ years teaching and strong leadership in NGO settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level teaching qualification with NT Teachers Registration or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with First Nations communities and culturally safe practices.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility in NGO contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of early years curriculum for First Nations children in the Top End.
• Oversee the Extended Learning program for 10–25-year-olds across four Top End locations.
• Develop and implement Learning and Wellbeing Framework.
• Build relationships with First Nations communities and uphold cultural knowledge.
• Maintain robust policies, risk management and child safety standards.
• Provide supervision and professional development for Learning staff.
• Oversee budgets and grant reporting related to learning and wellbeing.
