About The Team

Our approach integrates advancing data, AI, cloud, and automation delivering agility, security, efficiency, and innovation at scale.

The Opportunity

The Test Planner supports Geoscience Australia’s Digital Earth programme by developing and maintaining fit-for-purpose test strategies, plans and assurance activities across the Terminus, Tesseract and Ridan streams. You’ll work as part of an integrated delivery team, providing structured test guidance, coordinating test readiness and evidence, and helping delivery teams identify and manage quality risks throughout the delivery lifecycle.

In This Role, You Will
  • Develop, maintain and communicate risk-based test strategies, integrated test plans, schedules and estimates, aligned with evolving delivery priorities.
  • Assess requirements, solution designs, user stories and acceptance criteria, defining appropriate coverage across functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, operational and non-functional testing.
  • Coordinate test readiness across environments, test data, dependencies, resources and entry and exit criteria, working closely with developers, DevOps engineers, project managers, security specialists and business stakeholders.
  • Establish requirements-to-test traceability, coordinate test reviews and defect triage, and monitor test execution, defects, blockers and residual quality risks throughout delivery.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based test reporting, assurance and release-readiness advice, while contributing to continuous improvement in testing practices, templates, metrics and tooling.
About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.

You Will Bring
  • Demonstrated experience planning and assuring testing for complex software, digital platforms, data services or cloud-enabled solutions, with the ability to translate requirements and technical designs into pragmatic, risk-based test approaches.
  • Experience coordinating multiple test stages, environments, test data, dependencies and stakeholder groups across concurrent Agile, iterative and/or hybrid delivery activities.
  • Strong knowledge of test management, defect management, traceability, quality risk assessment and release-readiness reporting, including the ability to analyse results and communicate impacts and options clearly.
  • Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to prepare concise technical documentation and assurance artefacts for both technical and governance audiences.
  • The ability to work with general direction and exercise judgement and autonomy, alongside sufficient technical understanding to collaborate effectively with developers, DevOps, platform and security specialists. Experience with data-intensive, geospatial, Earth observation, scientific, cloud or Australian Government environments would be valuable.
