PowerData Group is seeking an experienced Test Analyst for the Northern Territory Police Force Digital Transformation program, based in Darwin, Australia. Qualifications

  • ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent testing certification.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Test Analyst within medium to large ICT projects.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proven experience developing and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios.
  • Review business, functional, and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Perform system, integration, regression, user acceptance, and production verification testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and assist with the resolution of defects and issues.
  • Prepare and maintain testing artefacts, including traceability matrices, execution reports, and test evidence.
  • Validate data quality and support test data preparation and reconciliation activities.
  • Provide regular reporting on testing status, risks, issues, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Support testing governance frameworks, quality assurance initiatives, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple digital transformation projects within a complex program environment.

PowerData Group is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to support the Northern Territory Police Force (NTPF) Digital Transformation Program on an initial 6-month contract based in Darwin, NT .

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting on testing activities across a range of digital transformation initiatives that support policing capability, community safety, and organisational effectiveness. You will work closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and operational expectations. The successful candidate will contribute to end-to-end testing activities including requirements analysis, test planning, test execution, defect management, user acceptance testing support, and quality assurance processes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and driving quality outcomes across complex ICT environments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent testing certification.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Test Analyst within medium to large ICT projects.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proven experience developing and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Experience with defect and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyse business and technical requirements and convert them into effective test coverage.
  • Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and defect investigation skills.
  • Experience validating data and working with SQL or similar database technologies.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within government, law enforcement, or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting projects involving enterprise integrations and multi-system environments.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks and non-functional testing activities.
