What is the Role?

As a final year tertiary student in 2027, gain paid work experience one day per week, to learn about teaching in a Christian school. This is a contract position commencing Week 1, Term 1 2027 and is one-day-per-week, term-time only. The program has been designed to be completed around your final year of study, to provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the St Andrew’s Cathedral School community and to learn about teaching in a Christian school. This role offers valuable hands‑on experience for tertiary students considering a career in education within a supportive Anglican school environment.

As An Intern, You Will Be Provided With

• a dedicated Mentor Teacher
• support and oversight of the program(s) by the School Coordinator
• collegial weekly Intern meetings, including devotionals, professional discussions about the development of teaching practice, and reflections on the progression of your individual teaching goals.
• Paid opportunities to attend relevant Professional Learning

Who will the successful applicant be?

• A tertiary student in their final year in 2027 (Bachelor or Master of Education/ Teaching)
• Possess a genuine interest to learn about teaching in a Christian School
• Able to demonstrate a growing knowledge of recent developments in the theory and practice of pedagogy.
• Display outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers
• Expected to understand and have a commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values and ethos.
