Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is seeking a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry for CAMHS at St George Hospital. The role involves outpatient CAMHS delivery, consultations to in-patient wards, and teaching responsibilities for trainees and students. Opportunities to engage in research, service development, and quality improvement are available.

The position is temporary full-time (40 hours per week) with potential extension and may be located at other SESLHD facilities as agreed.

Qualifications

• Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices.
• Proven capacity in high quality clinical service and participation in quality improvement.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
• Teach and supervise psychiatry trainees and students; join UNSW Psychiatry Conjoint Academic staff.
• Provide consultations to paediatric and adult psychiatry wards as required.
• Engage in research, service development and quality improvement projects.
