Job summary

Venues NSW is seeking a Technical Support Officer to ensure smooth IT services across our venues network. You will be the first point of contact for users, delivering timely resolutions and guidance to boost productivity.

You’ll monitor infrastructure, support onboarding/offboarding, and manage IT assets from procurement to disposal, helping maintain secure and efficient operations across major venues in NSW.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Information Technology is required.
• 12 months experience in a helpdesk or IT support role.
• Experience with Windows Server environments and Exchange are preferred.
• Proficiency with Office 365, AD, Intune and Group Policy is desirable.
• Strong hardware and software installation and repair skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for IT issues, providing prompt resolutions.
• Monitor IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance.

Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary purpose of the Technical Support Officer role is to ensure the smooth operation of IT services and support within the organization, leveraging available tools to enhance efficiency. This role serves as the first point of contact for users experiencing technical issues, delivering prompt and effective resolutions to minimize disruption. By fostering a positive user experience, the Technical Support Officer enhances employee productivity through high-quality support, training, and resources that empower users to effectively utilize IT tools and systems. You'llalso be responsible for monitoring and managing IT infrastructure, utilizing monitoring tools to ensure reliability and compliance with organizational standards. Streamlining the onboarding and offboarding processes for users is another key responsibility, as is overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal, often using asset management software.

This role aligns IT support activities with the broader goals of the organization, enhancing operational effectiveness and ensuring that technology serves as a vital enabler of business functions.

The ideal applicant will have:

• A minimum qualification of a Certificate IV in Information Technology
• 12 months experience in a previous helpdesk position
• Experience working with Windows server 2012, 2016, 2019
• Experience with Exchange server 2016 & Exchange Online
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office 365
• Windows 10/11, Microsoft Intune, Experience with Active Directory administration
• Understanding of Group Policy Management
• Software installation, hardware installations and repairs
• Print service administration
