Job summary

IT Alliance Australia is partnering with a federal government client to hire a Technology Architect at EL1 level. The role focuses on cloud architecture across AWS/Azure/private/hybrid platforms, delivering enterprise-wide design and roadmaps.

You will develop target designs, standards and policies and advise Design Authorities on technical risks. This 12-month contract requires Australian citizenship and Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance, with work locations in Canberra, Melbourne and

Qualifications

• Understand & apply architectural frameworks, patterns, standards & techniques.
• Extensive experience as a solution architect in medium-large organisations.
• Experience in architecting & deploying cloud-based architectures & roadmaps.
• Experience in system design & complex design documentation.
• Knowledge of Australian Government security standards.
• Background & technical skills in Enterprise ICT.

Responsibilities

Job description

One of our federal government clients seeking to engage a Technology architect.

Role: Technology Architects - (EL1 Level)

Location of work: Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane

Length of contract: 12 months

Security clearance: Must be an Australian citizen and holding Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance

Key duties and responsibilities

Cloud-specific Technology Architects (Cloud Architects) will be expected to have appropriate skills to provide all levels of architectural support, including platform (AWS, Azure, private and hybrid) and business solution advice to assist in delivering REDSPICE outcomes. This includes:

• Develop the target design, policies and standards, for a broad range of business use cases, ensuring consistency of design across the enterprise, and facilitating endorsement by the appropriate Design Authority.
• Drive cloud architecture at a strategic level across all lines of business, specifically toward self-service cloud adoption/migration.
• Engage with mission areas to understand their needs, developing strategic and/or tactical solutions appropriate the enterprise vision and intended mission outcome.
• Architect solutions that deliver to the ASD and Government security standards.
• Review internal and externally developed architecture and design artefacts to ensure consistency with enterprise designs, policies and standards.
• Advise Program Management and Design Authorities on technical risks and mitigations.

Technical skills
