Join a supportive, team-focused environment as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at our Kooragang Island manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll deliver frontline mechanical maintenance to ensure reliability and uptime across our Nitrates operations, including Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate plants, storage, and dispatch facilities.

You’ll play a key role in strategic maintenance planning, balancing capital projects with ongoing operations in a dynamic setting. We offer flexible work structures, a strong safety culture, and opportunities to coach and develop others while growing your own skills.

  • Ensure safety, health, environmental, and statutory compliance in all maintenance activities.
  • Drive plant uptime through planned, preventative, and condition‑based maintenance; identify root causes of failures and implement improvements.
  • Maintain all mechanical equipment in the Nitrates Area, including rotating machinery, conveyors, valves, and piping.
  • Contribute as an active member of the Nitrates Mechanical Maintenance Team to achieve business and team goals.
  • Strong Safety Culture;
  • Mechanical Fitter/Machinist Trade Qualification;
  • Communication and coordination skills to work with engineering and operational teams;
  • Experience with plant shutdowns, and mechanical maintenance in chemical or heavy engineering fields within a continuously operating environment;
  • Experienced with the following: High‑Speed Rotating machinery, Condition Monitoring, Valves, and piping in high‑pressure environments, Equipment overhauls, and SAP maintenance management system or similar CMMS.
