Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced BMS Service Technician for South Australia. The role covers defence and commercial sites, ensuring building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. It is a full-time field-based position with autonomy and career progression opportunities.

You will perform preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and system upgrades across BMS, HVAC, and energy management platforms while collaborating with project teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BMS, HVAC controls and building automation.
• Strong networking and IP familiarity for system integration.
• Eligibility to obtain Defence Security Clearance (Baseline).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and fault-finding on Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Service and troubleshoot HVAC and lighting controls and energy management systems.
• Diagnose and repair BMS hardware/software and communication issues.
• Work with IT-based control networks and system integration.
• Prepare quotations and implement system upgrades and modifications.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and facilities managers.
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with support teams and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Utilise client portals and service management systems to close out activities.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced BMS Service Technician to join our growing South Australian team. Working across our expanding Defence portfolio as well as a range of commercial and industrial sites, you'll play a key role in ensuring critical building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

This is a full-time field-based position offering a blend of technical challenge, autonomy, and career progression.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance and fault-finding on Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Service and troubleshoot HVAC controls, lighting controls, and energy management systems
• Diagnose and repair BMS hardware, software, and communication issues
• Work with complex IT and IP-based control networks
• Prepare quotations and implement system upgrades, enhancements, and modifications
• Provide technical advice and support to customers and facility managers
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with technical support teams and project stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
• Utilise client portals and service management systems to manage and close out service activities

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in BMS, HVAC controls, building automation, or related service environments
• Relevant qualifications in HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Automation, or Building Services
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, IP communications, switches, and system integration
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
• Current driver's licence
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Baseline minimum)
